(Queen’s Park) – On April 17th, without warning, the McGuinty government imposed a hiring freeze on doctors joining family health teams. Both doctors and physician recruiters across the province say the government’s hiring freeze is wreaking havoc with recruitment at a crucial time when hundreds of medical school graduates are deciding where to practice. This puts at risk the ability of these practices to take on more of the almost one million Ontarians without a doctor.
